Counseling at VCS
Who can get counseling?
VCS provides individual, couples and family counseling to adolescents and adults in our community. You do not need to have health insurance and do not need to be a US citizen or documented to receive services.
Who are the counselors?
Counseling at VCS is provided by professionally trained and supervised laypeople.
What does it cost?
Fees for counseling are charged on a sliding scale based on your ability to pay. Counseling at VCS is inexpensive because it is provided by volunteers. Fees can be adjusted if your circumstances change.
What kind of counseling does VCS do?
We find that almost all people have the ability to work through their concerns if they have a safe place to talk with a good listener. Counselors at VCS are therefore trained to create a safe, non-judgmental and supportive space for you to share and work through your concerns.
Counseling sessions take place once per week for an hour. We are open most days from 9am-9pm. All counseling is completely confidential. Read more about the VCS counseling model here.
How do I make an appointment?
Contact VCS at (845) 634-5729 and speak with Ellie Jacobson at ext 319 or Diane Campbell at ext 313 to make an intake appointment with a staff social worker. The worker will meet with you to understand your concerns and assign a counselor.
