VCS Community Change Project

The multi-service VCS Community Change Project provides a critical analysis of the social and political conditions relating to domestic violence, racism, sexism, heterosexism, bias-related incidents and other issues of oppression.  The community programs developed to achieve the goals of the Project include:  Community Commitment to End Domestic Violence; Anti-Racist Initiaitives; LGBT Affirming Community Services and more. 

   

Consultation - Training - Presentations

The VCS Community Change Project has been providing trainings on a variety of topics in Rockland County, the Lower Hudson Valley and throughout the United States for decades.  Professional trainers are available for consultations, trainings and/or presentations for any interested agency, institution, organization, business or community groups.  Programs will be tailored to your specific needs and can cover domestic violence, racism, sexism, heterosexism, homophobia, LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) education and awareness, bias-related incidents and cultural sensitivity. Fees vary depending on the specific consultation, training or presentation.

Community Commitment to End Domestic Violence
Services designed to end domestic violence, including:

o NY Model for Batterer Programs Domestic Violence Classes for Men: For court-ordered men who batter women. Domestic Violence Classes for Men are offered on a sliding scale.


o National Training Institute: "NY Model for Batterer Programs:  Focused on How Courts and Batterer Programs Can Clarify and Strengthen Offender Accountability." For professional and lay leaders involved in the movement to end domestic violence. Open to all.

Anti-Racism
Training resources that educate and help to facilitate anti-racist initiatives within the community, including:

o Working Together for Racial Justice - monthly meeting to review and affirm the principles of Undoing Racism as taught by the People's Institute for Survival & Beyond.


o Undoing Racism Workshops: People's Institute for Survival and Beyond
