Cancer Support Services for Families
Whenever anyone in your family gets sick, things change. Household routines get disturbed, chores and responsibilities get shifted and future plans are put on hold. This is especially true when someone you love gets cancer because cancer can be a family experience.
Sometimes talking helps!
It's quite normal to feel like you're on a roller coaster ride - one minute you're determined and hopeful, the next worried and scared. You want to be supportive and helpful but often you're left feeling helpless - unable to make things better. You can respect and admire your loved one's determination and you want to be strong for them even though you don't always feel that way. Everyone needs to find their own best way to cope with these normal, but difficult feelings and concerns.
Talking out loud can help but sometimes it's hard to talk to your loved one, especially when your challenges seem small compared to theirs.
There is no one right way to deal with cancer.
VCS is a place where you can vent, cry, laugh, be angry, be sad, find resources, bolster your coping skills and find strengths deep within yourself.
If you want to talk one on one in a confidential setting, or if you want to include your spouse, partner, parents or children (age 14+), we want to listen because we know that
Sometimes talking helps!
